Our Vision

To ensure no Wrestler is left behind.

Wrestle In My Shoes (WIMS) is a 501c3 non-profit founded by Joseph Butler, a New Jersey youth wrestler, when he was 10 years old.  It was originally founded as a service project for religious school.  When Joe was attending a wrestling tournament in New Jersey he spotted a group of athletes sharing a single pair of shoes.  After being impacted by this observation Joe decided to start collecting shoes to donate to youth athletes in need.

What happened over the next few years was nothing short of amazing.  WIMS received support from several high profile Wrestling Clubs and Division I Wrestling programs that were taken back by the simplistic nature of WIMS in recognizing what a simple pair of wrestling shoes could do for a young athletes' life.

Our mission is simple, we will not let anyone be denied the right to participate in the great sport of Wrestling due to socio-economic status or ability to pay for gear, most specifically shoes.

Since our inception WIMS has donated over 2,000 pairs of gently used wrestling shoes all over the United States and several foreign countries including; Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Bulgaria and France.

WIMS does not stop at just shoes, we have also donated the following due to the generous donations of our followers:

  • Wrestling Mats
  • Headgear
  • Knee pads
  • Singlets
  • Assistance of attendance to summer wrestling camps for youth wrestlers in need.
